This was inspired by the kind of EPIC SPORTS MONTAGE music you always see on TV. I was thinking about slow mo shots of robots coming out of the "tunnel" and onto the pitch when I wrote this - not something we were able to do in the game, but still! Some of my tracks have a more emotive conceptual basis than being routed in any other specific music - with this I just wanted to capture the idea of how people project a heroic persona onto sporting stars, so I wanted a kind of slow marching feel to it. I think this works quite well with the gameplay of Cortex and if I had my time again, I'd probably do a few more slow tracks like this.
